The Dragons released a statement, saying they will hold a “media conference to officially announce the signing of Benji Marshall at the St George Leagues Club at 5.45pm this evening”. He played 212 minutes of game time in eight Super Rugby matches. Benji Marshall will return to the NRL with the St George Illawarra Dragons, having agreed to a two-and-a-half deal. “On the field I certainly wanted to achieve more than how it panned out. It didn’t go that way but in terms of life it did 100 percent.”-Triple M NRL Marshall informed the Dragons of his decision just after 3pm on Friday, deciding agaisnt joining Cronulla where most of his ex-teammates now play. The Sharks say they made him a good offer and are disappointed here’s not joining their team. “I gave rugby a go and it didn’t work out. However I feel like through being at the Blues I was able to find myself again, find some hunger, get fit and on top of that and more importantly I feel like I’ve become a better person,” he said at the time.
