first_imgSource = e-Travel Blackboard: N.J Kangaroo Island could be facing major travel redevelopment as the South Australian Government aims to double tourism into the island over the next ten years.As part of the makeover, the Government has commenced a study into the island’s airport, major roads and ferry terminals, ABC News reported.”One of the issues with the island is, of course, the opportunity to get here,” Tourism Minister John Rau said.”Presently the size of the aircraft that can land safely at Kingscote is limited.”We’re looking at improving the airport facilities, the runway and the terminal so that we can have larger aircraft come in.”In total the region will receive up to $18 million to develop and expand its facilities, with $8 million set aside for road improvements and $5 million to build a new walking trail.last_img
