Global Affairs Canada confirms Canadian citizen killed in Mexico

A Canadian citizen has been killed in Mexico, according to Global Affairs Canada. Consular officials are reportedly providing assistance to the victim’s family. The department did not disclose further details but a spokesperson said their thoughts and prayers are with the family. The Yucatan Times has reported a 70-year-old Canadian man was found dead in an apartment in the city of Progresco. The local media source said the man was found with at least five stab wounds to his chest and neck.
