first_imgLeading entrepreneur Pat McDonagh has snapped up a controversial site in the heart of Letterkenny.McDonagh’s company, Atlantic Enterprises Limited, has purchased the site at Tesco at Letterkenny Shopping Centre. The site has been at the centre of a planning controversy after Tesco attempted to build a petrol station there in recent years. Strong objections from local businessman Eddie Tobin saw the application put on the backfoot before it was finally agreed by An Bord Pleanala. However, work was never commenced on the site but it now appears that Pat McDonagh may be about to start work on the project.A new application for the site has been lodged with Donegal County Council with a decision date due on November 22nd next. The plans involve the demolition of a current shed and the provision of a four-island petrol forecourt, advertising signage, underground storage tanks and the widening of existing roads. The application will also mean the loss of 26 parking spaces at the current site.A spokesperson for Atlantic Enterprises has so far failed to respond to a query on the application.Supermacs takeaway boss eyes up Letterkenny site was last modified: October 14th, 2017 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:donegalletterkennyPat McDonaghSUpermacslast_img
