AC Milan fly club doctor to Colombia to complete deal for Liverpool target

first_imgAC Milan have flown their club doctor and sporting director to Colombia to finalise a deal for Liverpool target Carlos Bacca.The striker enjoyed a brilliant campaign last season, scoring 28 goals and helping Sevilla lift the Europa League for a second time in as many years.Liverpool have been heavily linked with the 28-year-old and reports had claimed they were readying a £21m swoop.However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, those talks have stalled and Milan are now hoping to pip the Reds to Bacca’s signature.The Italian club are said to have sent their club doctor, Stefano Mazzoni, and sporting director, Rocco Maiorino, to Colombia to meet with the player.The pair will finalise terms with the Colombian and oversee his medical ahead of £22m move to the San Siro.Bacca is also set to sign a four-year contract worth around £45,000-a-week Carlos Bacca 1last_img
