Guyana Softball Cup 2018…– bowls off October 26On Wednesday, the Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) launched the eighth annual Softball Cup, which the logistics well worked out for the two-day intense action under floodlights from October 26-28 in Georgetown and the East Coast of Demerara.Members of the GSFCA and sponsors at the launchThe tournament is said to conclude at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) with the Over 45, Over 50, the Open and Female exhibition match.Secretary of the GFSCA, Anil Beharry, has stated that he is very excited as the first match is soon to be played. He also thanked the sponsors for the work they have been doing over the years, and for their continuous support.Beharry further stated that this event is one of the biggest softball events in the world. He went on to state that everything is set in place, and they are ready for action.President of the DCC, former West Indies all-rounder Roger Harper, said, “This is the eighth edition of the Guyana Cup Tournament. Every year, the tournament has been big, and we expect this year to be the biggest. As president of the Demerara Cricket Club, (I am) very pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of this event, and (to be) hosting the finals once again.”The registration fee for the Open category will remain at US$400, with the prize money set at US$4000; while the cost for registration for the Masters (O-45 and O-50) is set at US$700.
