Alberttown man jailed for 4 years for narco-trafficking

first_imgTishawn Haywood of Third Street, Alberttown, Georgetown, was on Thursday sentenced to four years in prison by Magistrate Leroy Daly after he was found with 56 kilograms of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.Convicted drug trafficker, Tishawn HaywoodThe charge that was brought against him stated that on December 6, 2018, at Alberttown, he had 56.7 kilograms of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.Police Prosecutor Richard Harris told the court that there was sufficient evidence to substantiate the charge that was brought against Haywood.Harris also revealed that Haywood had been under Police surveillance for some time, and on the day in question, he was seen by ranks unloading the said drugs with the help of another, storing same in a pen in the yard where he was apprehended, the court was told.Before handing down the sentence, Magistrate Daly told the man that he wasted the court’s time. The accused pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him at his first appearance and was subsequently remanded to prison but was later released on $100,000 bail.During the trial several witnesses testified.last_img
