Clad Pad is a sun-filled, family-friendly renovation to an existing dwelling located in Caulfield North. The original double-fronted, single-storey, weatherboard house was built in the 1890s in the Victorian style. The 1970s were not a kind decade and the house was transformed from an elegant Victorian cottage into the ugly duckling of the street.Save this picture!© Tatjana PlittSave this picture!SectionsUndaunted by a challenge, our clients purchased this ugly duckling with ambitions to transform the original rooms back into their former Victorian-era glory and add new contemporary light-filled spaces at the rear.Save this picture!© Tatjana PlittSave this picture!Floor planSave this picture!© Tatjana PlittOur intervention retains original bedrooms, adding new services and a multifunctional living room that re-orientates the house to be north facing and opens onto a generous back garden. The roof form of the extension takes the existing double hip roof form of the original house, rotates it 90 degrees, and carves it out to create a distinct sculptural profile; the negative of the existing roof form as a folded ‘zig-zag’ that gathers the new kitchen, dining and living space under it.Save this picture!© Tatjana PlittClad Pad celebrates the best aspects of contemporary living whilst restoring the heritage charm of what once was the ugly duckling of the street.Save this picture!© Tatjana PlittProject gallerySee allShow lessTwo Close Between / Abon StudioSelected ProjectsNine-Tiered Pagoda: Spatial and Visual Magic / Pills ArchitectsSelected Projects Share Adams Engineering Structural Engineering: CopyHouses, Renovation•Brunswick, Australia Save this picture!© Tatjana Plitt+ 25Curated by Paula Pintos Share Architects: Mihaly Slocombe Area Area of this architecture project 2019 Photographs:  Tatjana Plitt ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/951597/clad-pad-house-renovation-mihaly-slocombe Clipboardcenter_img Clad Pad House Renovation / Mihaly SlocombeSave this projectSaveClad Pad House Renovation / Mihaly Slocombe Australia ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/951597/clad-pad-house-renovation-mihaly-slocombe Clipboard “COPY” Houses “COPY” Area:  205 m² Year Completion year of this architecture project Clad Pad House Renovation / Mihaly Slocombe Projects Photographs CopyAbout this officeMihaly SlocombeOfficeFollow#TagsProjectsBuilt ProjectsSelected ProjectsResidential ArchitectureHousesRefurbishmentRenovationMelbourneOn FacebookBrunswickAustraliaPublished on November 18, 2020Cite: “Clad Pad House Renovation / Mihaly Slocombe” 17 Nov 2020. first_img May 28, 2021 Find out more News PalestineMiddle East – North Africa Organisation News Israel now holding 13 Palestinian journalists Reporters Without Borders voiced relief on learning that Peruvian photographer Jaime Razuri of Agence France-Presse was released in Gaza City today, a week after he was kidnapped outside the agency’s bureau.“We are extremely relieved by this news,” the press freedom organisation said. “But we call on the authorities to bring the kidnappers to justice. This is the only way to finally put an end to this series of abductions. So far, none of the people responsible for the abductions of six journalists in 2006 have been prosected. Letting this impunity continue will mean that other foreign journalists will be in danger of being kidnapped.”Reporters Without Borders has been told that Razuri was received by President Mahmoud Abbas immediately after his release. A news conference was due to be held in the building that houses the president’s offices. The identity of Razuri’s abductors is still not known.Razuri was kidnapped by four gunmen on the afternoon of 1 January as he was returning to the AFP bureau in Gaza City in the company of a driver and an interpreter. After defeating two top 10teams last weekend in Michigan and Minnesota, the Badgers are peaking right atthe time head coach Barry Davis was hoping they would.?The guysdid a good job (last weekend),? Davis said. ?I think we?re starting to comearound right now, at the right time. If we continue to do the little thingsright, I think we?ll be all right.?AfterFriday?s match, the grapplers will get a little bit of a break before the BigTen Championships March 8-9 in Minneapolis. Davis knows that this is the timeof year when his guys could use a day or two off.?I thinkwe all need a break,? Davis said. ?The coaches need a mental break too to getaway and re-charge a bit. It?s a nice break to watch some great high schoolwrestling [and to] watch some of the recruits compete at the Kohl Center. Welet the guys get away for a bit too. So it?s good for both of us.?But beforethe Badgers can rest, they need to take care of the Wildcats. That will help us get somereal intense workouts.?After theseedings come out, his grapplers will watch video of their first roundopponents and prepare for their opening round matches. Senior Craig Henningknows he, along with the rest of the team, will be ready to go on that firstwhistle in Minneapolis.?Now that we?ve seen most of the Big Ten guys that we?llbe facing,?
