Liberty University isin that category.Position TitleAssistant/Associate/Full Professor of Mechanical EngineeringDoes this position require driving?NoContactContact Phone ExtContact EmailJob Summary/Basic FunctionJOB SUMMARY / BASIC FUNCTION :This position teaches in the School of Engineering programs.Engineering topics include (but are not limited to) statics,dynamics, CAD / CAM design, thermodynamics, thermo-fluids, fluiddynamics, heat transfer, manufacturing processes, mechanics ofmaterials, machine component design, and materialsengineering.Faculty will participate in the process of defining undergraduateengineering curriculum. In this capacity, faculty are expectedto:-Assist in curriculum review and development-Develop laboratories to support engineering curriculum-Create projects designed to enhance lectures-Read and stay abreast of current topics in computer science andengineering,-Develop syllabi and review textbooks for adoption-Propose and develop new courses as determined appropriate by thefaculty-Actively participate in and support SACS and ABET accreditationpreparationFaculty are required by the university to:-Teach contracted load-Maintain office hours-Mentor and advise students-Keep timely records of grades, grade papers, and perform otheradministrative duties as neededFaculty will perform other duties as assigned and activelyparticipate in University assemblies and activities.Applicants must demonstrate a personal faith commitment to theUniversity’s evangelical Christian purpose.Minimum QualificationsCandidates must hold a master of science in mechanicalengineering.In addition, an exemplary record of scholarship, external researchsupport, and teaching is expected for appointment to a facultyposition. Successful candidates will be expected to conductresearch, teach undergraduate classes, and contribute to theDepartment’s service mission.Applicants must demonstrate a personal faith commitment to theUniversity’s evangelical Christian purpose.Preferred QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates with a terminal degree inmechanical engineering. Candidates with experience at the associateor full professor level will be considered, however, priority willbe given to candidates at the assistant level.Work HoursThis is a residential position.
